Our Campus Too!
University Jewish Chaplaincy’s Urgent Fundraiser - Live Now
A one-off special post.
Leadership is most visible when systems are under strain.
Those of us who work on organisational structure and development know this well: it’s easy to talk about values, autonomy, and belonging when environments are stable.
It’s much harder when people are operating in complex, hostile, or dysfunctional systems — and yet that is precisely when leadership and good organisational design matter most.
Universities should be places where young adults learn how to take ownership of their identity, their values, and their place in the world. That requires more than policies and statements. It requires real, human support — spaces that are safe, nurturing, and robust enough to withstand pressure.
That is why I am supporting the University of Jewish Chaplaincy and its current urgent fundraising campaign.
After more than two years of chaos on campus, Jewish students are slipping into a dangerous “new normal”: weighing whether it’s worth revealing their Jewish identity at all, for fear of isolation or discrimination. Beyond loud protests, they face quieter, more corrosive academic and social exclusion — feeling like outsiders in places that should feel like home.
University Jewish Chaplaincy has stepped up where many institutions have failed to show leadership. Over the last year alone, they have provided:
Thousands students events and attendances at solidarity events, direct support to hundreds of students experiencing antisemitism, scores of meetings with university authorities to fight for Jewish student safety and rights and over 10,000 hot meals.
This is organisational leadership at its best: enabling autonomy, building resilience, and giving people the support they need to manage their own lives and take ownership of their identity in difficult environments.
But they cannot sustain this work alone.
Today, every gift is matched — doubling your impact.
Strong organisations protect their people — especially when it’s hardest to do so.
Please donate today and send a clear message to every Jewish student: you are supported, you are seen, and this is your campus too.
Thank you
